Americans Moving to Mobile Internet

'Mobile Internet' refers to access to the Internet from a mobile device and it is increasing day by day. The Mobile Web refers to access to the world wide web, i.e. the use of browser-based Internet services, from a handheld mobile device, such as a smartphone, a feature phone or a tablet computer, connected to a mobile network or other wireless network.

Research stated that a growing number of Americans use with their mobile phones to access the Internet, and some use that like their only device or tools to get online.

One out of six, or 17 per cent of cell phone owners do most of their online browsing on their phone, rather than a computer or other device.

The survey found that most of them do so for convenience, but for some people their phone is their only option for online access.

The Pew Internet & American Life Project found 88 % of United States adults had a cell phone of some kind as of April, and 55 % of them use their phone to go online.
