Newspaper and Its Importance

A newspaper is a programmed and scheduled publication that contains news of current events, actions, diverse features, informative articles, advertising and editorials. It is usually an inexpensive production. Newspaper is the blessing of modern technology.
Newspaper is a store house of knowledge. We can know customs and manners of other countries through a newspaper. In fact, it is a gist of current affairs. It supplies everyone with news.

The utility of newspaper reading cannot be exaggerated. The newspaper brings the world to our door. It develops us a feeling that we and our country are a part of the vast world outside.  By reading newspaper we get all kinds of information from home and abroad. We get news about the latest political movement and changes in the government. A wide range of object, material has been published in newspapers, including editorial opinions, criticism, persuasion and op-eds; obituaries; entertainment features such as crosswords, sudoku and horoscopes; weather news and forecasts; advice, food and other columns; reviews of radio, movies, television, plays and restaurants; classified ads; display ads, radio and television listings, inserts from local merchants, editorial cartoons, gag cartoons and comic strips. Those who are interested in sports can find the result of cricket, football, hockey and tennis matches. Those who are interested in films and theater may turn to film reviews. From the pages of a newspaper we may get the news about the present international situation and debate on the urgent questions of peace and war. From the space research to the share markets, railways time table, and advertisement, tender notice and business information everything has a place in it. Newspaper reading can be highly educative, if we only know what to look for in the paper. Thus an hour given to the reading of a newspaper is thoroughly well utilized.
